The Pizza Time Players on the Balcony Stage featuring guest star Harmony Howlette.

The Pizza Time Players were the animatronic characters that performed on stage at Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre restaurants starting in 1977. The original band members were Chuck E. Cheese, Crusty the Cat (who was later retired and replaced by Mr. Munch), Jasper T. Jowls, Pasqually, The Warblettes, and a special guest star.

History[]

The Pizza Time Players first appeared at the company's first restaurant in San Jose, California.

Throughout the late 70s, a couple characters were switched. Crusty the Cat was replaced with Mr. Munch in 1978. In 1979, The Warblettes were replaced by The Mopsey Sisters, only to be brought back the following year.

Soon after the company went bankrupt in 1984 and was bought out by ShowBiz Pizza Place, they discontinued the guest stars and kept the current guest star, Helen Henny as a permanent member of the band. During Concept Unification, the Pizza Time Players concept was later modified to become Munch's Make Believe Band.

The last showtape created for the Pizza Time Players was the CEC TV Classics 1991 showtape, which was made for Canada only in replacement of the American Pride 1991 showtape as the tape wouldn't be relevant to a foreign audience. It was an edited version of the previous year's TV Classics showtape.

Trivia[]

  • King Kat was the last Pizza Time Player before the bankruptcy.
